The Nissan was packed in a residential compound when smoke was noticed billowing from its bonnet. Residents resolved to breaking its windows as they feared the car might be carrying LPG cylinders. At the main gate to the compound is an LPG depot. The incident happened in Nairobi West, just a few metres away from Nairobi West hospital. The owner of the car was alerted that his car was on fire and arrived to find residents throwing sand at it. He opened its doors and boot and the fire was finally put off.
