A semi boring video showing that it is possible to ignite green White birch shavings using a firesteel. I removed the flammable bark before so it would spoil the results. This test was done for a thread in Bushcraft usa involving the properties of green wood within firecraft. I also ignited dry dead White birch wood at the end of the video using a firesteel. For those wondering the green wood was taken off a branch from a tree heavily damaged by superstorm Sandy. It is slated for the chain saw.
