Hey guys, Slashtap here with a video after a long period of silence. Some of you may recognize me from YCS Dallas '12, where I floor judged at the first few tables. I am NOT a Yugituber, but I did want to make this video to encourage Yugioh players.

I believe there is a strong case for establishing a well-organized personal toolbox of potentially metagame level cards. You don't have to stuff everything that's not in your deck into your trade binder! I hope that viewers can understand that to experience tournament success, one must stay organized and well-prepared for the changing trends of the game by maintaining a library of cards OUTSIDE of their normal TRADE collection.

Arranging cards alphabetically and by card type in distinct boxes is a great way to streamline the deckbuilding process, giving you the versatility and efficiency you often find when building decks in the Yugioh video games.

I understand that newer players may not have the resources to maintain much more than 70 core cards (40 card maindeck, 15 card side, and 15 card extra). The good news is you don't have to spend a lot of money ripping open packs to find what you need. Buying singles is a good option. You could steal and cheat like some players I know, but I discourage that. Don't sell your soul to get good at something.

In addition to buying singles, as I described in the video, if you work hard at studying your local metagame and winning at locals regularly, you can steadily build up a collection with tournament winnings and turn that collection into your ultimate toolbox! In less than a year, I was able to create five tier 1 decks and establish the toolbox you see here (plus other random decks not in this video, like Lightsworn and Blackwings) by applying these principles.

If you're passionate about the game, work hard and strive to be the best!

Thanks to my lovely Teresa for her excellent job with the camera while shooting this.
