As a strictly vanilla minecrafter, I didn't think I was going to do it, but after watching a bunch of my favorite youtube minecrafters do their first episodes of Feed the Beast, I've been charmed by the beast. But I have much to learn about its ways.

In this first episode, my son Nilorio and I get our first start in our first world generated by FTB. Spawned between redwoods, glaciers, and a savanna--all totally new biomes for us--we get the basics going and build some of our first new technology items that are just the beginning of our inevitable advancement.

Our seed is "Newtopia FTB LP" because our overarching theme is to build a super high tech minecraft utopia that is in harmony with the biomes, rather than a beastly industrial landscape.

Feed the Beast is a modpack for the game Minecraft. It adds a huge number of items, recipes and world-generation to the game, and is used in the YouTube series "Feed the Beast." The modpack centers on several famous mods such as IndustrialCraft and BuildCraft but the full list is extensive. All of the mods in the pack have been approved by the modders to be included.
