Making mistakes is inevitable when you are struggling with a narcissistic divorce. You have to remember you are in one of the most stressful situations you have ever been in. Because of this you are not going to be able to do everything right every time. This can result in reactions to both your ex *and* your children. You have to remember the your kids are struggling just as you are and as a result of there will be times that they will push your buttons as well. Just remember, when you make a mistake it isn’t “the end of the world”. The key to growing from this is to be able to *recognize you made a mistake* and *take active steps to grow from them.* In this video I discuss the reality of making mistakes and end with two critical things you need to remember. The first, in relation to your ex, it doesn’t matter what you do because they will vilify you wether you do it right or do it wrong. Second, your children love you and will always give you a second chance. You might have to work for it but if you are genuine with them and own your mistakes you can recover from it.
