In this video I play the sixth part of the F1 2012 demo, a race on season challenge.

This video shows us the importance of getting a CLEAN lap on the one lap qualifying. I get too excited when I get near pole and cut a corner and it dissalows my lap! This is fully justified, but I feel more consistency is needed. Some corners let you cut them a lot and others don't allow it at all. So all this means that I start the race from the back, I like a challenge.

I also notice in this qualifying session that the AI scale with you, depending on how well you are doing. In all of my races barring this one the pole position time is around a 1:23.000. However, in this video the pole position time is around a 1:26.000. Did everyone make a big mistake? I think not. Clearly the AI scale with you, but due to the consistency of the other videos I have deduced that there is a limit to the scaling. It seems on this difficulty level, the best time the AI will record is a 1:23.000 ish. I see this as a good thing as it means you will always be competitive, as I found that in F1 2011 I would either be on pole by miles or I would be down in around 10th. At least this means some consistency across all tracks.

When I get to the race, I have a bit of a scrappy start and wind up spinning on a Caterham. This has been happening in all of the F1 games so far, where you push against another car with your front end and you actually spin. It is pretty much the opposite of what happens in real life, but it doesn't happen much, and it usually happens when you would have spun anyway or are in other trouble, so no worries about that one.

Once again I have a last lap spin when I run wide and go onto the gravel. Again, this is fully fair enough, but just shows the importance of avoiding understeer when you are racing with a wheel.

I have a series of these videos covering the entire demo - more to come.
