Some Quick/Myths  Facts before you Read:

- Jews and Arabs have NOT been fighting for thousands of years

- Islam does NOT preach violence

- Islam is DIRECTLY related to Judaism so it would be absurd for a Muslim to hate jews because of their religion

- Palestine was a British colony until 1948 when it was partitioned

- Before that it was part of the Ottoman Empire

Recently saw a facebook question "Whose side r u on? Israel or Palestine?" And in the comments I saw some of the most rude, ethnocentric and overall DISGUSTING COMMENTS I have ever read. I am at a crossroad here. My entire family is Muslim and 95% of my friends are Jewish ( I was raised in a Jewish town). So I'm not going to "pick a side" but what I am going to do is provide information from both parties for all of you to read/watch. The best thing to do here is to educate the public because it has been a proven fact in history that EDUCATION PREVENTS VIOLENCE!!

To really understand this one must go back to when it all started. For those of you who have an attention span of .00001 I will simplify everything so that you can read this in less than 3 minutes and be on your way to watching American Idol, Jersey Shore, Skins and all the other bullshit on TV that purposely is put there to stray your attention from what is important in the world.

For those of you who hate to read I have listed some phenomenal documentaries to watch in order to learn more about the crisis.

Creation of Israel:

Israel was proposed in 1915 for the oppressed Jews of the world to have a Jewish State where they can be safe, since they have been oppressed LITERALLY for thousands of years.

Neither side Jews/Arab were hostile towards eachother but when more and more people started coming from Europe it started to become a problem.

Because the balance that had existed was dramatically changing. The UN finally partitioned the British Mandate into halves 52% for the jews 48% for the Arabs. This created ALOT of turmoil because many Arabs felt as if they had been gypped. This finally caused the first 1948 Israeli-Arab war.

Suez Crisis:

This is when Egypt told British Imperialists to leave and took over the Suez Canal. Why is this important? It was a VERY STRONG indicator of Arab Military hostility in the region. Imperialism was over and oppressed nations began to build up arms. This put Israel in a VERY dangerous situation because the country was now surrounded by hostile countries all growing in strength.

6 days war:
Israel now feeling threatened strikes first. This would pave way for a 6 day war. Although only 6 days it was extremely bloody with many casualties. Although Israel was struck from 2 different fronts, with better strategies along with American Military funding (Artillery, planes etc) they were able to neutralize all enemies.

After the 6 day war there was another war in rhe 70's that Ironically created peace between Israel Egypt & Syria. Palestinians were still unhappy because there was still no homeland.

Now I will present arguments from BOTH sides. Both parties make very strong arguments. I disagree with MANY of their views but for one to make a decision they need to view the situation from BOTH SPECTRUMS.
