Learn how to make a still image into a 2.5D parallax video.

Steps for 2.5D Parallax Effect:
1. Bring image into Photoshop and make the size of your video project.
2. Duplicate layers to have the number of depth layers that you desire.
3. Foreground Layer - Isolate/Cut Out the foreground image. Be sure to have a 1 pixel feather on your magnetic lasso.
4. Middle Layer - Cut out the background, and paint out foreground image. Use Clone tool and Healing brush.
4a. Tip: Use edges to help paint away foreground image.
5. Background Layer - Paint away any foreground images
6. Save PSD and bring into Adobe After Effects - Import as Composition with Layers
7. Animate Scale and Position of layers in AE. Layers further in the front should move more than background layers.
8. Option: Include a light leak over the top of your layers. Use a screen or add opacity filter.
9. Option: Use puppet tool to add subtle motion to foreground.
10. Option: Add optical flares between layers.
11. Export and add SFX
