Going to watch a hockey game is about as Canadian as poutine. While it is not one of my favourite things to do, Tim loves to go and see a hockey game. Here in Victoria it is extremely accessible to go and see the Victoria Royals play hockey. In Ontario, going to see the Toronto Maple Leafs has become cost prohibitive for more people. Here the hockey is good, we always enjoy the games and we can actually afford to go to the games. It is easy to get to the hockey arena from our home, the tickets so affordable and that he whole family can enjoy the game. We usually go to the hockey games with Tim’s soccer team as part of fundraising efforts. Although I would say soccer is a little more popular here on Vancouver Island, in that more kids and adults play soccer than hockey, compared to Ontario, going to watch a hockey game is still a fun thing to do.
