The 2017 Ford Expedition is a full-size three-row SUV that slots above the smaller Explorer and can seat up to eight passengers. In addition to the standard-wheelbase version, there’s a long-wheelbase variant called the Expedition EL. Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive is optional.

The 2017 Ford Expedition is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 with 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. EPA fuel economy ratings for the regular length Expedition are 15/21 mpg city/highway for rear-drive models and 15/20 mpg with four-wheel drive. Long-wheelbase models are rated at 15/20 mpg for rear-drive models or 15/19 mpg with four-wheel drive.

When properly equipped, the 2017 Expedition can tow up to 9,200 pounds on all but the four-wheel-drive-equipped Expedition L model, which tops out at 9,100 pounds. Cargo space in the standard-wheelbase model is 18.6 cubic feet behind the third row, 55 cubic feet behind the second row, and 108.3 cubic feet behind the front seats. The long-wheelbase Expedition EL have 42.6 cubic feet behind the third row, 85.5 cubic feet behind the second row, and 130.8 cubic feet behind the front seats.
