How did you get involved with the Red Cross? In September of 2008 Alison from the Red Cross came to Armstrong for Volunteer day and had a table set up with information on the Red Cross and I decided that it may be something that I would like to get involved in, so I checked it out and took a few classes and am now a volunteer CPR instructor for the Red Cross. I feel like it is my way for doing something good. How has the Red Cross changed your life? The Red Cross has allowed me to become a certified instructor in CPR and first aid. This allows me to teach others what I think everyone should know, the steps to take in an emergency and how to potentially save a life. The Red Cross has allowed me to feel good about doing something that is right. Unfortunately CPR is not always successful, but if a person knows what steps to take in an emergency situation it helps them to know that they did what was right.
