8mm footage from practice for the 1969 Southern 300 at the Nashville Fairgrounds followed by footage from the race itself. Among the cars featured in practice are L.D. Ottinger in the #2, Bill Morton in the 101, Freddy Fryar in the 301, and David Sisco in #15. This was the final race held on the half-mile track which was built in 1958. Demolition started the next day and for the 1970 season a new 35-degree banked track and a modern covered grandstand were in place. Also seen is Paul "Fat Boy" Ryman practicing his Cadet car on the quarter-mile track. Fryar scored his second Southern 300 win in three years in the 1969 race.
