2009 Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation Speaker: Keith Beauchamp Friday, January 23, 2009 Amasa Stone Chapel Beauchamp, was ten years old when he first developed an interest in the life and death of Emmett Till. After seeing images of fourteen year-old Till before and after he was murdered in 1955 for whistling at a white-woman in Mississippi, Beauchamp was deeply troubled. He would later create a film about Till's life, death and the subsequent trial. It took Beauchamp over ten years to complete the film "The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till." Beauchamp was determined to play a role in righting this historical wrong.
