The old Stillwater Bridge is falling apart from 75 years of use. Originally threatened with demolition due to the "no new bridges" rule for Wild and Scenic Rivers, it was decided it could stay because they really meant "no new 'motorized vehicle' bridges, and since it was historic it would have to be maintained in perpetuity. When the last car goes over in 2016 it will be converted into a bicycle-pedestrian bridge.
