(30 Nov 2018) Russian officials on Friday condemned US President Donald Trump's cancellation of his meeting at the G-20 summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump cited Russia's seizure of three Ukrainian ships as the basis for his decision to cancel. But senior lawmaker Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma International Committee, said it was the result of "anti-Russian hysteria" from his opponents that left him with little other option. He suggested the real reason for the cancellation was due to domestic U.S. politics - a view backed up by Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. At her weekly press briefing Friday, Zakharova said "I think we have to search for the answers for this decision in the domestic political situation in the United States."
