A woman and her two young sons were killed in a weekend house fire in Sedalia. Sedalia police said the fire started at 2508 N. Woodlawn Drive at about 4 p.m. Saturday. Authorities identified the victims as Nicole Ortner, 35, and Nicholas Preston, 4. Stephen Preston, 6, was flown to a hospital in Kansas City. He died Monday morning. "It took (firefighters) a while to find the littlest one. They ran with him to the ambulance. They didn't even try to do CPR," neighbor Reagan Morton told KMBC's Peggy Breit. Breit reported that Ortner was a single mom who was close with her family.
