How often have we heard that the ridiculous, immoral, or otherwise incredible parts of the Bible ought not be taken literally? Too fucking long, in my opinion. I go in depth to explain why it isn't even a logically stable one. All forms of literature borrow from earlier stories, acting as intermediaries of symbolism and in effect possessing the same degree of depth that the Bible is claimed to have. In any case, the symbolism argument is not compatible with the Bible because a) 2 Peter 20, b) symbolism is entirely subjective and can thus be used as an excuse for violent or inaccurate interpretation, and c) when you get down to it, it's nothing more than a copout.
