Dogs Deserve Better is a national nonprofit organization who is transforming Michael Vick's former dogfighting compound—Bad Newz Kennels—into the Good Newz Rehab Center for Chained and Penned Dogs. We are located in Smithfield, VA, and are open daily from 10 a.m - 2 p.m. daily. Appointments are available at most other times by advance arrangement. Dogs Deserve Better has been fighting for freedom for chained and penned dogs since 2002. The organization moved from Pennsylvania to Virginia in 2011 after purchasing the property on Moonlight Rd.
