I drove 7 hours round trip to get an 80cc chainsaw for my lumber mill for only $55.

I was looking for a stronger chainsaw for my lumber mill but they are running around $400 - 600 used online all over the place. You just cant find one cheaper than that.

But I found this old Sears D-49 chainsaw for $55 and the guy said it runs. The only problem with these is that they have no chain brake so they are considered dangerous and collectors items only.

This is the reason the price was so low on this as well.

But for my chainsaw mill this is perfect. I will never use the chain brake on my chainsaws on this mill. The chainsaw is securely fastened into the machine and cannot come out or kick back on me.

It was a long drive but even with the cost of gas for driving it was way cheaper than anything else I could find with that size engine.

The machine starts and runs well so I grabbed it and started back on the long ride home.

I am hoping and praying that this chainsaw fits right onto the chain and bar I currently have on the mill now so I can make some test cuts today.

I do plan to get a brand new chain for it later today though but I do want to first do a comparison of the 50cc and the 80cc with the same chain if I can.
