So what's this (more) rubbish then? First a history lesson:

12 years ago I bought my third PC, a "Time Machine 700-7 CD-R Ultimate" - 700Mhz AMD Athlon CPU, 27Gb HDD, 128Mb RAM and a TNT2 32Mb Graphics Card; as advertised by Leonard Nimoy.

It also came with a crappy webcam. Being a creative sort of person the first thing I did with the webcam was make stupid films with it using old toys and junk. I made a few, most of them unfinished. The Grinder is one of the finished projects and took about a day to make and was completed in 2001. There was some planning for this one, unlike Scum of the Universe which you can also find on my channel.

I used a program called Video Studio which came free on a PC Format Magazine cover disc. The finished film did not require any updating when I re-mastered Scum in 2003.

There was no such thing as Youtube when I made this and even when it did come along I couldn't upload the film for two reasons: 1 - I still only had a 56k modem so uploading it would have been a pain in the ass and 2 - The film went over the maximum allowed duration (for the time). There was no getting round the latter because the rendered movie wouldn't import into Premiere Elements 4 and I no longer had all the assets so I couldn't cut it down for time.

Fast forward to this year and I dug out the old CD-R with the film on and was successful in importing it into Premiere Elements 10. So I decided to re-cut it, mainly to replace the original music at the end which was an instrumental track by Moby. I've also re-edited it a bit for pacing. The original end credit sequence has been replaced.

The Grinder is the second film from 2001/2003 that I have uploaded to Youtube, the first one was Scum of the Universe. I have one more film to add to my channel called Another Place. This final film went through the most revisions and was also the most ambitious. Sadly I only ever made Part 1 and never began production on Part 2, though all the assets still exist, including some of the set pieces and art work including the library...so, maybe one day I'll finish it!
