I struggle to find it every day

Overbearing like a man
Unchained from reality
In ways he doesn’t understand 

In dangerous ways that percolate
That’ll resonate once he’s gone
That’ll haunt us for a generation
if we last that long

In this timeline that we broke
The future we face could have been
A terrible messed up joke

Jesus take the wheel now
And drive us off the cliff
We don’t deserve to see the end
Of this poorly written script

And I am just a messenger
With no words of my own
I spend my days staring down
