After we got the truck fixed we booked it north to virginia as we were headed for the DC cherry blossoms. Due to the warm winter they decided to come about 2 weeks early so we had to move! Leaving Alabama we overnighted near Atlanta then headed to a campground in SC. It was really beautiful but super hilly and we had a few issues while there. It was the Carolina landing thousand trails campground. After there we headed for Virginia stopping only briefly again in charlotte NC. We got to the place we were staying and it promptly decided to SNOW!! We had been in much colder weather than this and the rig handled it just fine. We are very happy however to be in our mobile suites that has more insulation with 4" sidewalls than almost any other RV out there! :) We survived the snow and of course another hazard made its self present with extremely high winds. They were so high and we were parked just wrong that we decided we needed to move our house so we didnt tip over. Fifth wheels are pretty stable but they are also pretty light and tall. High winds at the wrong angle could probably be problematic. After surviving the winds we decided to do a little cider wine and wiskey tasting since there is tons of that to do in the Shenandoah area. We visited Albemarle Cider works, the Virginia distillery and pipin hill winery. While over there we up with another full time RV family and had a great time!
