Here a 1300 degree Celsius temperature probe placed into the firebox of my Stanley solid fuel range. It gets quite hot in there.

The digital thermometer that I used is a Sinometer DM6801A+. It is very easy to use. It takes a type k thermocouple. It runs on a 9 volt battery. The thermocouple that I am measuring with is rated up to 1300 degrees Celsius.
