My performance of the first out of a set of five pieces by Dutch composer Gerard Hengeveld written after the manner of Erik Satie. This piece is very much like a one of Satie'sGymnopèdies, but is a little more adventurous harmonically. The mood is calm, yet with hints of sorrow, agitation, resignation, contentment; a very rich array.
