Pilot David Siever took off from Hollister before noon Sept. 20 to fly a plane with a banner that read “Thank you Christine. We have your back,” over Palo Alto, where psychology professor Christine Blasey Ford lives and works.

The flight and banner message were paid for by UltraViolet, a women's rights group. As the plane flew overhead, protesters gathered and marched to the home of Blasey Ford in a show of support for the woman who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.
