Kavya’s talk for TEDxYouth@BSHS 2018: Unboxed, titled “Success = Medicine”, unpacked our expectations of teenagers when it comes to choosing what they wish to do in the future. She discussed her own story in discovering her ambition independently of what others expected of her, as well as the notion of “success” and how we view it as high school students. In 2018, Kavya Avadhani was a Year 12 student at Brisbane State High School. During her senior year, she studied a range of subjects: English, Mathematics B, Chemistry, Japanese, Modern History and Philosophy. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
