Representative Gomez on Former FBI Director Comey Testimony
Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-TX), a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, spoke to reporters outside of a closed-door interview with former FBI Director James Comey. The lawmaker described the ongoing meeting as a “complete waste of time” and said he was concerned about some Republican line of questioning pertaining to the special counsel investigation into Russia and the Trump campaign.
Representative Meadows on Former FBI Director Comey Testimony
Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, spoke to reporters outside of a closed-door interview with former FBI Director James Comey. He said he could not talk about specifics discussed inside the room, but that he had learned some new information. He said the meeting could conclude later in the afternoon, but did not rule out the possibility of an additional day, or days, of questioning with the former FBI director. 
Representative Sheila Jackson Lee on Former FBI Director Comey Testimony
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, spoke to reporters outside of a closed-door interview with former FBI Director James Comey. She called for the full transcripts of the interview be released to the press in the next 24 hours. In addition, Rep. Jackson Lee said that Mr. Comey “stayed consistent in his perspective” that President Trump did not obstruct justice.
Former FBI Director Comey Remarks Following Closed Testimony
Former FBI Director James Comey spoke briefly to reporters following his testimony behind closed doors with House Judiciary Committee members. Mr. Comey told reporters that he will return for a second interview on December 17, 2018, but emphasized that his testimony should have been done in an open setting. In addition, he talked about William Barr being nominated by President Trump to be the next attorney general, saying, “I think he will serve the Justice Department well.”
