After working in the media for less than 18 months, Joshua Fanning decided that it could be better. His first attempt and changing the media landscape in SA was with the art culture magazine, MERGE which was aimed towards keeping young creative-types in SA. Following on from MERGE, Joshua was cajoled begrugingly back into the publishing world by design wunder-kind, Adam Johnson with the idea that MERGE was good but COLLECT could be better. Joshua Fanning is a sucker for making things better. Joshua Fanning wants things to be better - that doesn't necessarily mean, cheaper, faster or shinier but essentially more human. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations) Edit by: http://www.mandurphy.net
