Bond increased to $4 million for Ellie Weik murder suspect

HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) - The man accused of killing Ellie Weik is now held on $4 million bond. Michael Strouse was arraigned Wednesday morning.

A grand jury indicted Strouse on nine counts including aggravated murder, murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

Strouse is also accused of stalking Weik for as long as six months before strangling her on July 29. Investigators say he left her body in a Liberty Township field. She was found on August 24.

His attorney entered a not guilty plea.

Strouse was originally held on $2 million bond. If he's convicted, he could spend life in prison without parole.

Investigators say Weik and Strouse did know each other.
