They wanted to save a deer's life. News 5's Lauren Vargas met Bambi and her owner, Kenneth Webster, in Mobile County. Bambi was a member of the family. Kenneth found her when she was a baby. There was one problem. Keeping wild animals as pets is illegal in the State of Alabama. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources came and took Bambi away. They dropped her off in the wild, fifty miles from her adopted family. Bambi, however, didn't care about the law. She made an incredible journey back to her home.
