Deficit increases, income tax increase a one time blip

Despite that increase in state income tax receipts we first reported last week, the state's red ink has grown to over a quarter of a billion dollars. Lawmakers will start negotiating next week on how to make further cuts in spending with an eye toward a vote sometime before the end of the month.
