Hey Fam, I literally just did a tutorial giving some feedback on the comparison on both Ableton and Reason 9 and I must say, call me crazy, but I personally hear some body and bone marrow in other DAWS, Protools 9, Ableton, FL Studio and more... as opposed to the clean clarity of Reason 9. I think it may have to do with Propellerheads sound engine. Or for the most part, I believe I personally hear bit range like 16 bit from reason vs 24 bit from everyone else. I don't care what anyone else says, i clearly "FEEL" the difference in my soul. I feel and hear very very subtle nuances in other DAWS, and when I listen to Reason, I feel like a generic version of something really really good. But I feel I'm missing some real authenticity in sound quality. I'Ve been using since the beginning of there movement like you, and I've never truly compared it to others, but when it comes to mixing like vocals, I simply cannot do it in Reason anymore, I have to go to Protools. and slowly but surely Im starting to feel that way with Reason and Ableton. I made a track in Ableton, for the first time in my life, and I'm still learning Ableton, and I literally had the ENTIRE HOUSE ROCKING ON SUPERBOWL NIGHT AT MY PARTY!!!!! Then I played an even better beat on reason, and the pump just wasn't the same, the response from the crowd was not quite there like it was when I played the track from Ableton, so that told me, that it's not just the beat, because the beat was cheap in my honest opinion, but the quality of the beat was massive. the frequencies was just there penetrating peoples soul, so from there i instantly understood that people respond to frequency much much more quicker than responding to dope beats.
