The gains continue with my best ever All-Around score - my first time breaking into the 70s!!! My routines are largely the same as last month's competition as I've been working on cleaning up current skills more than adding new ones. I have been working on various upgrades as well which will hopefully be ready for the next competition! This was the second competition of the year. Notable accomplishments for this competition: 1. Best ever FX score by 0.216 2. Best ever HB score by 0.666 3. Best ever AA score by 1.014 4. First time scoring in the 70s AA Once again, I highly recommend you track your own progress numerically, to compete against yourself. It is great fun to try to beat yourself in terms of difficulty and execution, and often as a result you'll start to do better against others as well! It also makes those small improvements that much more exciting and rewarding! There were 36 Gymnasts competing. 0:00-0:16 Vault: Diff: 2.0, Score: 11.066, Place: 23rd 0:16-0:56 Parallel Bars: Diff: 4.0, Score: 13.100, Place: 4th 0:56-1:26 High Bar: Diff: 2.3, Score: 11.466, Place: 6th 1:26-2:27 Floor: Diff: 3.3, Score: 12.166, Place: 24th 2:27-2:52 Pommel: Diff: 2.7, Score: 10.966, Place: 12th 2:52-3:49 Rings: Diff: 3.2, Score: 11.950, Place: 1st All Around: 70.714. Now that it is better, I will be focusing on the dismount itself, so it will be SOLID next competition! Previously Dislocates were uncomfortable as I would not bring my hands around in front during the last part of the swing, and would instead basically pass through the bottom of a German Hang during the swing which was unnecessary stress on the shoulders and also was killing a lot of power! It was exciting just how quickly I could fix this training at a new gym with so many great coaches and fellow gymnasts! :D Coming 8th AA again means I'm in the reserve spot for Nationals, though if I can do really well in the next competition (State), I could still earn a place on the team! Seeing as the top 6 take a spot on the team, and they take the average of your best 2 comps, I'll need to get approx a 72.5 AA! Can I do it?! Big thanks to Chris, Ethan and Jordie for filming!
