Racing in the rain is the BEST! Absolutely love it and I think it shows. Anybody know where the music's from?

First video with my new Sony FDR X-3000 camera (turn on your 4K if your screen supports it!).

Footage of onboard [damp] footage at Circuit de Calafat (4th of Feb 2018), in Catalonia, Spain. Trackday organized by TrackRat.

First time ever at this track and first heats in this part 1, so don't be too cruel with my initial lines, as they are probably off, anyway. Great fun little track, by the way!

MR2 is a 1989 Mk1b T-top, Naturally Aspirated 4AGE 16v 7 rib "bigport" (NOT supercharged... the sound you hear is probably the injectors sync'ing with the engine bay microphone). Engine is bone stock except for a rusty-Swiss.cheese-spec OEM Toyota muffler, an ITG replacement filter and NDK Iridium spark plugs and NGK spark plug wires. Oh, and almost forgot. MR-S (ZW30) C56 gearbox (closer ratios on 3rd and 4th, taller final) with an OEM [as in "mild-locking-at-best"] Torsen LSD.

Chassis mods are 15x7 +35 TOM'S Rally wheels fitted to 195/50R15 Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tires, RS*R Ti2000 springs, Kayaba Excel-G damper struts, and Whiteline rear sway bar. No, I didn't change the front one because I didn't think it was necessary. Stock brakes, OEM fluid (God knows how long it's been there, I've never replaced it since I got the car in 2012) with the cheapest rotors/discs and pads I could buy, literally. Perks of oversized OEM brakes. Even though this car weighs 1110kg with me in it (67kg) and a full tank.

If anything, I want to get a staggered tyre choice, moving from current all-round 195/50R15 to 195/50R15 front and 205/50R15 rear. As you'll see, the rear is a bit too loose with my kind of driving... Rain doesn't help... but man, is it FUN to drive!!

Anyway, [if you've read this far, good for you] If you're a personal-choice-music-hater, you'll be relieved to know the next part of this trackday's highlight videos will probably be engine whine (sorry, noise... damn mic) alone... Pity I'll have to state this again in the comments for sure... wanna bet?
