Two types of pathological narcissism have been proposed, i.e., exhibitionist and closet. They are also referred to as overt and covert narcissism. The word 'overt' means something that is easily seen, something that is not hidden If you are ever in the presence of a narcissist, you probably will not have to guess and will more than likely walk away scarred. I will say that we throw the term around so often that it is applied to almost everyone who behaves in a distasteful way...and it is usually applied wrong. Lets chat!
