Bigfooting wasn't the plan for today, but you just never know when you are going to find something interesting. We went for a hike up the Palisades Trail to take in the beautiful day and see some new territory. This is about 8 miles up the valley from the cabin. Nothing particularly Squatchy on the way up, but we found some interesting tree structures near the top. I hope you enjoy the view as much as I did.

Side note:  Gabby did not understand the idea behind switchbacks. She was confused as to why we kept changing direction. Back and forth. When the whole time, the way back was at the bottom of the hill."What? Changing your mind again?" "Shouldn't we just go down there?" Was what the looks we got said. The trail behind the cabin does not have switchbacks, it goes straight up, so you can see why this was a new concept.  She had it figured out before we got to the bottom. Sometimes she cracks me up!
