In this video Jason speaks about how you can avoid one of the traps that many spiritual seekers fall into: Following power instead of realization. The pursuit of power can keep a student trapped in their ego and the conditional happiness therein instead of freeing the student from it. After all what good is power without the activation of the heart? A person with power and no heart becomes a monster trapped in his own pain without the necessary compassion for himself or for others around him. After all, why did the person seek the power in the first place? Most often, it was to avoid feeling vulnerable to the reality of the universe. The problem with this is the vulnerability is necessary in order for the eternal heart and God wisdom to become activated in the physical vehicle. Love is the state that remains when all is lost, so the path to enlightenment is not in maintaining the idealisms of the ego, it is in the surrender of them. If a student follows a teacher purely on the reason of power, the student will never encounter the unconditional happiness he seeks because the teacher has not found it himself. If you seek enlightenment you may find a teacher with power, but this teacher is only the correct teacher if this teacher gained their power through the surrender of it rather than the pursuit.
