For this stage, Soki and Jubei are split up. We start as Jubei.

Jubei is fun to play, in fact I almost prefer her over Soki. She's nimble so she has the fastest...well...technically the second fastest attack speed in the game. Strictly because one of our future party members brought an automatic rifle to Sengoku Era Japan. She is easily the best at dodging however, with more I-frames and an almost immediate start up time. With her fast attacks she can dodge between her combos easily. She does, naturally, deal less damage per attack compared to Soki but her damage output is still pretty damn good.

After a bit of exploring as Jubei, she'll join up with Soki and now we'll be able to freely switch between both characters as we please. As we progress further in, we'll encounter an area with a bunch of ladders and switches. To get past here we have to use both Soki and Jubei, as well as the Wait command and using Jubei's small frame to reach specific areas. Not a difficult puzzle to figure out, just a bit of trial and error. After that, we'll end up on the roofs and then cutscenes will end up separating both Soki and Jubei again.

39:09 - Ohatsu - Now we have a boss fight against Ohatsu. She's incredibly weak, but she can deal a lot of damage to you if she fires her gun off enough times. She switches between shooting you, stopping, and being open to attacks to using her grappling hook to appear all around the area and fire off charged shots in your general direction. Easily avoid by just moving, but she can't be harmed while she's doing this. If you spam Magic, you will rinse her HP in barely a minute.

We're still not done, as next we have to backtrack to the ladders. Once we reach the area, we have to rush to Jubei who was tied to a log with dynamite as the fuse is already lit. If we don't make it in time, she will actually die from this absurd Dick Dastardly style trap. Ohatsu counted as the boss for this stage, because it's over as soon as we reach Jubei.

Now that we have Jubei back at the Hideout, she can combine materials for us to create certain items like healing items and sometimes even weapons and accessories. Different party members create different weapons and accessories, and they can only create 3-4 items per stage.

Also, there's a hidden affection system in the game but it only affects Hideout dialogue. You can raise it by fighting with your party members and it will change how they greet Soki and open new dialogue options. I probably missed some dialogue since I didn't grind an invisible number off screen at every given opportunity, but I show every bit of dialogue I see naturally.
