This video will show you how to backup the complete software from Mediatek phones. This method should work with all MT65xx chipsets like MT6572, MT6577, MT6582, MT6589, MT6592, MT6595. It is always a good idea to have a backup of your software, especially if you plan to update your phone. Even if the ROM you want to install comes from the official manufacturer, there have been cases when the updates were botched and they bricked the phones they were installed on.

This video shows how to read the complete ROM, including the partitions that contain configuration files unique to your particular phone (like the baseband config, IMEI, Wi-Fi MAC, Bluetooth MAC), information which would be very hard or even impossible to get back otherwise.
