This video also answers some of the queries below:

How to hide offensive comment on Instagram app

Can you hide comments on Instagram
How do you filter comments on Instagram
Instagram comment filter

If you want to hide offensive comment from your Instagram account then open "Instagram". Tap on the profile icon. Select more. Select "Settings". Then scroll down and go to "Comment Controls". Now here what you have to do is select this option "Hide offensive comments". You can also manually enter the words which you want to filter. For that one I will enable this open "manual filter" and here I can enter the words which I want to filter. For example If I select a word bad. Now whenever someone comments and uses the word bad that comment will be filtered. If you want to add more words what you do is simply put a comma and then keep on adding the words. So, this is how you can filter your comments in Instagram.
