In this Closing Plenary session of WISE 2011, the Master of Ceremonies, Kirsty Lang, hosts a debate with Jimmy Wales, Founder of Wikipedia, Michèle Pierre-Louis, President of the Fokal Foundation and former Prime Minister of Haiti, Professor Fasli Jalal, former Vice Minister of National Education in Indonesia, and Sarah Buhmaid, a Learners' Voice student from Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. The panel discusses how change can happen in education, from the exponential international growth of Wikipedia to the Sisyphean task of rebuilding the education system in Haiti - aided by the WISE Haiti Task Force -- or from the hugely successful upgrading of the teaching profession in Indonesia to the increasing numbers of women entering higher education.
