I am a student ambassador and junior in the Environmental Science Academic Program at North Carolina State University, an officer of the Wolfpack Environmental Student Association, a columnist for the school paper, Technician, founder of Plastic Propaganda, and a social entrepreneur on the rise, among other things. I work as a social media consultant for the Waste Reduction and Recycling department on campus and coordinate campus sustainability initiatives with the Sustainability department. Plastic Propaganda has been nominated for a campus-wide Think Outside the Brick grant and an ACC-wide Prize for Innovation grant. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
