Just an amusing thing I came across when attempting to fight Dark Force 3.0 at Soldier's Temple. My intent was to grab the Aero Prism, teleport to a town, get on a vehicle then warp to the temple exterior. That did not work. As soon as I left Mile the cutscene with the Aero Prism started. But the dialog was from Vahal Fort, including the dialog that takes place if you attempt to enter the dungeon before taking "The Silver Soldier" job at the Hunters Guild. The game then freezes right before the scene where Wren would have deactivated Daughter.

This makes for a rather amusing mesh of cutscenes. Seth becomes Dark Force becomes Daughter. That Seth is a master of disguise!

There's a reason why it freezes. At first I couldn't figure it out. So I tried bypassing Motavia by warping directly to Tyler from the Soldier's Temple interior. Then I used the Ice Digger to vehicle warp to the Soldier's Temple exterior from a small patch of ice a bit south west of the entrance to Myst Valley. The cutscene played out correctly. But it froze before the battle started. This is because you MUST recruit Seth before getting the Aero Prism. The game needs to remove him from your party to initiate the battle with Dark Force. And since he's not there it just freezes.

Solving this problem will allow you to battle Dark Force 3.0 on a vehicle. But you have to use another planet as a warp point back to Motavia. Otherwise as soon as you enter the Motavian overworld map from Motavia the battle starts. It's extremely convoluted. But since you can use ryuka and the telepipe at the temple exterior it seems to register the same way as the overworld map. I guess it has the same flags set or something. It's just technically a different map.

That was long and convoluted too I guess. ^^

Note that without the custom party hack, trying to get Seth without the proper amount of party members will cause a lot of problems and the game will freeze up when you open the menu. Seth also won't appear in battle. This is much the same for most sequence breaking that involved character recruitment. Best to use the hack.
