A few days ago, I lost a close friend of mine named Jeremy Smith. He was a spectacular person and was loved by all that knew him. Yesterday, I attended a beautiful service in celebration of his life and was joined by hundreds of the other people who he had impacted. It was incredibly powerful to see how many lives he had changed in just 27 years. Music is the only way I know how to cope with loss and express the emotion it stirs in me, so when I got home from the service - I wrote a short song about a guy I truly aspire to emulate. Jeremy - we miss you.

Lyrics:
You were there... where you'd always been
With the same old smile... resting on your chin
And we know now.... What we couldn't know then
You were shining bright... but time wore thin

Oh... that's why you lived your life
One day at... One day at time

Jeremy... how could you leave?
When there's so much left undone
But it seems to me, though it's hard to believe
It's alright and there's no more wrong
It hurts tonight, but heaven's where you belong

First we cried... and then we laughed
Cause we all knew you'd have wanted it like that
But our path seems dark... without your light
But in our minds... you're with us tonight

So... we'll try to live our lives
One day at... One day at time

Oh Jeremy... how could you leave
When there's so much left undone
But it seems to me, though it's hard to believe
It's alright and there's no more wrong
It hurts tonight but heaven's where you belong
