June 3 (Bloomberg) -- Bernard Madoff has always said he acted alone in building his Ponzi scheme, but according to the ProPublica journalism website, which reviewed court papers filed since Madoff was arrested, a small group of associates may have played knowing roles in the scheme and profited from it.
