So my good friend Scotty, the Gun Smith, called me up and told me he was about to Chamber Cast a 7.7 Jap Rifle to get a better look at the chamber. Chamber casting is the processes of pouring a molten material into the a chamber, allowing it to set, and then tapping it out. Once out, the cast will show you the exactly size, shape and form of the chamber. This is REALLY useful when you think you may have an issue in the chamber. This video give a good overview of the process... although the cast didn't come out like we had hoped, it still gave us very good information. There's always a next time for the perfect casting.
