So this shows the somewhat mirror polish I was able to get from just 800 grit and 2000 grit sandpaper. I the edge was a tad bit sharper than factory but nothing to write home about. I would definitely say this is because I was not consistent in my angles. To improve this if your trying to replicate this go slower at first to get the angle down and then you can do what I showed to get some quick progress. After I show this video I did some more fine tuning and slower, passes which resulted in a much better edge. I am still not content but it is gradually improving. So even though I did not get a hair poping edge YET I think it is very possible with $8 of material.
