Thousands of gay and lesbian activists marched to the White House in Washington demanding equal rights, and asking President Obama to keep his promises on ending discrimination against their community. The National Equality March came a day after the president spoke to the nation's largest gay rights group, the Human Rights Campaign. Mr. Obama vowed to end the 'Don't ask, don't tell,' policy in the military. He also said he was committed to allowing gay couples the same rights as married heterosexual couples. VOA's Elizabeth Lee reports.
