U.S. Senator Jim Webb has thanked Burma for releasing an American prisoner and said international sanctions against Rangoon have been ineffective. VOA's Michael Bowman reports, the senator spoke upon arrival in Thailand after a trip to Burma, also known as Myanmar, that featured a rare meeting between an elected U.S. official and the country's military leader.
