This race is Heat 1 of the Division 3 (D3) Girls from the 2018 CIF-ss (Southern Section) Cross Country Prelims meet held on November 9 at the Riverside Cross Country Course. The course is 3 miles. The Prelims meet decides the 24 teams and up to 15 individuals in each division that will compete in the Finals meet held on the following weekend.

Commentary: Three of the State's top 10 teams on display in this heat, including State Runner-Up / SS Champ Palos Verdes. 12 of 18 teams move on to Finals. The soph from Corona del Mar dominated this from the beginning. She is second in SS-D3 only to senior Sarah Shulze. Well back was Mia Chavez, the impressive frosh who we've seen frequently this season.
